EMODNet Geology - Landslides and gravitational features mapped within French metropolitan EEZ
Landslides and gravitational features mapped within French metropolitan EEZ at 1 : 250 000 in the framework of work-package 6 (Geological Events and Probabilities) of the european project EMODNet Geology. These datasets were delivered during the phase 2 of the project.

This dataset is based on a compilation of published data (scientific articles, Master degree's reports, ...) and/or made free from access for EMODNet project. As no interpretation work has been done on geological data (bathymetric DTM, backscatter, seismic,...), it can't be considered as an exhaustive inventory.
Attributs communs aux deux jeux de données :
- Age = geochronologic unit where possible or only "ancient" or "recent"
- References = bibliographic references
- Comment = free comments
Attributs des polygones :
- Sls_pol = unique identifier code (two letters country code, which corresponds to ISO3166- code plus progressive numbers that identify each spatial occurrence in the map)
- Volume = in cubic meters
- Thickness : Maximum thickness of the displaced mass or, alternatively, evaluated average thickness (the type of thickness is indicated in "Comment")
- Type = Landslide type according to INSPIRE (ex. landslide, fall, topple, slide (rotational/translational), flow, deep-seated gravitational slope deformations, complex landslide, turbidity currents, zones of net erosion)
- Source_are(a) = area of landslide initiation (above or below
the sea level)
- Lithology = deposits associated with the landslide (rock, debris, mud...)
- Name = literature name
- Slope grad(ient) = slope gradient as a percentage, according to : Slope=[(Profondeur min-Profondeur max)/Distance planimétrique]*100
Attributs des lignes :
- Sls_lin = unique identifier code (two letters country code, which corresponds to ISO3166- code plus progressive numbers that identify each spatial occurrence in the map)
- Scarp length = Edge of the main scarp, in meters.
- Scarp Height = Height of the surface of rupture, if totally exposed, or maximum height difference between the top of the displaced material and the edge of the main scarp (in meters).
