Territorial Sea

The outer limit of the territorial sea is the line every point of which is at a distance from the nearest point of the baseline equal to the breadth of the territorial sea, according to art. 6 of Law 34/2006 of July 28 - Zonas marítimas sob soberania ou jurisdição nacional ( https://goo.gl/rvZYGk).This spatial dataset refers to the administrative limit of the Portuguese territorial sea established in Portuguese legislation, in art. 3.º of Resolution of the Assembly of the Republic, no. 60-B / 97 -, in accordance with international law: every State has the right to establish this breadth up to a limit not exceeding 12 nautical miles, measured from baselines (1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea serves as the benchmark to establish the outer limit of the territorial sea - https://goo.gl/ogTVX).
